A new show has now joined the SLPN Network as part of the SLPN In Your Face video series. It is called “RezzedNecks”. It is a video machinima series done by Radar Masukami and Itazura Radio featuring various guests.

Cooter and Forest Weezles are two rednecks who have been sentenced to community service in Second Life. They have to spend 3 hours every day confined to a trailer at Podcast Island.
Be sure to visit the trailer over at Podcast Island, but be careful, don’t get on their lawn…unless you like BudWoozer being thrown at you…

OK, So the latest revision to the SLPN website is that there is a new logo. Why?
Well I felt that the old logo was getting a bit old and to be honest I never really liked it. So I had a creative impulse and went with it and here is the new logo. I prefer this one. But again its my opinion, What do you think?
I have just redesigned the Sidebar layout for a cleaner look to the site.
Also, I’d like to welcome The Beat Chicks to the SLPN network. The Beat Chicks is a SL music scene podcast where Hope Clary and TheDiva Rockin interview your favourite SL Musicians and get some Live performances too. So, if you love Live Music, be sure to grab this into your MP3 player!
Today I have put in a new plugin on the SLPN website which allows iPhone and iPod users to browse through the content of SLPN as well as search through it as well. If you are a wordpress user you may want to give the plugin a try, its called WPtouch.
It also plays well with the podPress plugin that we use to have the flash player and download the content. I think its a pretty cool plugin with some nice AJAX features. So if you have an iPhone or iPod visit http://slpodcast.net/ and add us to your home screen
.
One More Thing…
We have now switched our SLPN videos from the place we were once hosting it to another service called Blip.TV . The reason we chose to move our video content from Libsyn to Blip is cost and also the service. Blip is dedicated to video and has a nice interface for people who just want to watch videos on the fly. It also allows our video to be automatically converted to an iPod format for those who want to watch the videos on their iPods or any MP4 player.
With the move and the restrictions of file size per month lifted we can now offer you more video content and so I am currently talking to machima people who might be intrested in showcasing their work on SLPN.
To watch the high quality SLPN videos please visit http://slpnvideo.blip.tv
About two months ago we announced that we was going to be doing live episodes of podcasts such as MetaNews Weekly and The Podmafia Podcast. However this has been halted and I would like to explain why.
The main reason for this is because my main machine’s motherboard bricked (that means totally died) a month ago. So this means that any live events that I need to be at will be on hold. However once my motherboard gets returned I shall be back online and ready to get live shows rolling once more.
Just a reminder to everyone. Tomorrow is the first ever live recording of MetaNews Weekly with Malburns Writer and Tara Yeats.
Just an FYI for you all. MetaNews Weekly is the rebranded version of S***** L*** Newscast
The recording will take place at Nowhereville (Click this SLurl) and will start at 9AM SLT (That is 5PM UK time)
Again…
MetaNews Weekly Episode 4
Location : Nowhereville
Time: 9AM SLT (5PM UK Time)
While your there, don’t forget to subscribe to the SLPN Subscribe-o-Matic feed for all the latest news on events and maybe some useful treats now and then…
One thing that the Second Life virtual world is all about is the ability to hang out with people from all over the world and have fun. Other times there can be discussion. I have always wanted to have podcast recordings within the virtual world and (now I have figured it out) well…
Coming Soon to the SL Podcast Network will be Live Podcast Recordings!
What this means is that I am now setting up spaces on my plot at Nowhereville where audiences can gather and record shows.
One of these shows will be MetaNews Weekly. A weekly show discussing the metaverse with Mal Burns and Tara Yeats (and…me).
and this is not an April Fool’s Joke
A new podcast came on to the scene lately called Diamonds and Rust. The show is hosted by Second Life ™ residents Nika Dreamscape and Keeme Brown.
Take a listen to their show, its really entertaining in my opinion and perhaps you will enjoy it. If you take a look at the right sidebar and find the podcast. Go ahead and subscribe to it in your favourite podcatcher!
To accomodate the new podcasts on the network, there is going to have to be some downtime so I can ensure that the shows are smoothly sifted into the archives.
Last week we had two things happen for the network. Those two awesome things that happened were two new shows joining the fun of The Second Life Podcast Network!
Firstly, The Gomem Show. The Gomem Show started out in August 2006 and was using the free hosting on Podshow. However, when the SL Podcast Network started up, Gomem wanted to put the show on the network. However since podshow has some sucky rights to the content uploaded on the network this was probably illegal to do. However he is now hosting via LibSyn and so…it’s all good! Each week Gomem brings tunes and Second Life views (ok theres also a cat and real life too…and Bob also calls in) and is an all around brilliant show.
Secondly, Second Style Stylecast is the fashionista’s dream come true. Each week Daphne Abernathy and Tamara Kirshner bring you the latest in Second Life fashion news and makes to be an exceptional companion to any avatars portable media player (since you don’t need an iPod to listen to podcasts)
Both of these shows are great and I am happy to have them now on board with the network.
