LMAO! Have these people at LL tottaly lost there minds? Do they really think that masses of people will show up to kiss and hug a LInden???
I bet masses of people will show up for this, but belive me, it wont be to hugg and kiss one… it will be more like to flame one for there idiotic ways of ripping people off in SL.
Somehow I’m not too sure on your comment JH. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact that theres never been a real problem before with the Lindens valentines day event. Not to mention they didn’t get “flamed” at the snowball fights either….
Then you probably missed the openspace sim sceme Stuart. What JH probably means is that Linden Labs ripped off lots of people by their decission to higher the prices on monthly fees for open space sims (homesteads) with 67%.
First they let people buy open space sims until the grid was filled 1/3 with it and then they suddenly highered the price. They knew all along what happened on the open space sims, but closed their eyes for about six months. No even worse, they boosted the marketing on it in that period. People with openspace sims were/are standing against the wall and were/are confronted with a take it or leave it policy.
I wonder how you would feel if you lost ten thousands of dollars on investments in the grid. Would you feel like hugging a Linden? I think you’d rather shoot them. So I fully understand the comment from JH. Although I don’t think that the Lindens will be flamed, they will be hugged by the early adaptors. Early adaptors thanking Linden Lab for the wealth they brought them and thanking them for shaking out the upcomming concurrency.
As for Linden Lab: don’t think you can sit this matter out. Messages like these will come back over and over again to warn people about investing in Second Life.
Kissing, hugging, snowballing or flaming… does it matter? It’s all Animi anyway…
What matters most is the event is being produced to raise funds for Australian fire victims, isn’t that enough?
I, like many others have had my share of issues with Linden Lab… but once in a great while they do a good deed.
My guess is that almost every SL resident has at least one friend that has horror stories to tell about the Australian fire victims, I for one do. Support them, they desperately need it.
If you have doubts about a bad taste in your mouth from kissing a Linden just close your eyes, or choose a volunteer, never know, you might be surprised ^_^
Hey Xe Oh, I don’t keep up to date with everything LL does since they usually just frustrate me.
However I would like a link to the announcement about LL donating to the victims in Australia if you happen to have it.
Thanks a bunch.
Hi RA,
These are the links you asked for. I feel it’s a great idea, but you need to decide for yourself
